Chandigarh, June 27: Priest booked for attempt to rape PANCHKULA:The Panchkula police today registered a case of attempt to rape against 40-year-old Somnath who worked as a priest at Bhaisa Tibba village near here. He reportedly tried to molest the 12-year-old daughter of a woman devotee from Sarnag village who used to visit the Goga Mani shrine in the village.
He took the girl to a nearby forest on the pretext of a ritual and tried to rape her. The girl raised a hue and cry, bit the priest’s hand, hit him with a stone and escaped. She then related the incident to her mother.
Two injured in car-truck collision near Ramgarh Panchkula: Twenty three-year-old Jaipal and 27-year-old Gursharan were injured in a collision between a truck an a car near Ramgarh. Jaipal has been admitted to PGI with head injuries while Gursharan is at Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32 (GMCH). Both have fractured their leg. They were in the car. |
