Ahmedabad, June 20: THE Club of Youth Working for Environment at Ahmedabad (CYWEN) on Sunday organised a programme on cleanliness at the Vigyan Rail platform on Kalupur Railway Station.

The programme included a street play, puppet show, games and activities focussing on creating awareness for keeping the railway station clean.

About 15 members of the club participated in the programme. The group performed a street play, ‘Chalta Hain’, thrice. It exhibited the mentality of people who do anything on the railway station just by saying ‘Chalta Hain’.

A puppet show,‘Maru Ghar’ was also organised.

The thurst of the show was to make people aware about every aspect of environment at home like drinking water, saving electricity and proper sanitation habits.

Both activities were aimed at keeping the railway station clean, use of clean water, proper disposal of sanitation and eating hyegenic food. A canvas was also kept for people to write their views on cleanliness under the title of “To Keep My Railway Station Clean I Will”.

Dilip Baishya, programme assistant of CYWEN says, ‘‘We’ve organised this event today as the Vigyan Rail is here and people would naturally come to see it. We grabbed the opportunity. We’ve got good response from the people as they turned out in more numbers than we expected,’’ adds Dilip.
