Mumbai, September 11: Mumbai FC, the city’s latest entrant into the Elite Division of the Mahindra Mumbai Football League, strengthened their strike force with the inclusion of international Alex Ambrose before their season opener against RCF at the Cooperage on Wednesday. Ambrose will be joining Mumbai FC captain and international Abhishek Yadav to form a potent strike combination.
The 25-year-old local lad, who has played professional football for the past eight years, began his career with the Dadar XI Club before moving to the Tata Football Academy in 1997-98.
Since then he has played for Salgaoncar SC (2000-2003) before switching to Dempo for a year.
He played for Vasco and Fransa before returning to Air India in 2006. Ambrose has now joined Mumbai FC for a chance to play under coach David Booth.
Ambrose has represented the country in the Asian Games, the LG Cup and the pre-Olympic Qualifiers, besides playing in the AFC Club Championships. |
