Thieves injure Kalka residents

Chandigarh, September 11: Thieves decamped with jewellery and cash worth lakhs from the house of a Kalka resident, Rajesh Kumar on Monday. The thieves also attacked Kumar and his wife, Rajni with iron rods, thereby injuring them seriously. Both were rushed to the Civil hospital, Kalka. Their condition was reportedly stable.

A police official said “Nearly five men gained entry to the house and after attacking the owners decamped with gold and cash. The Panchkula SP, Sandeep Khirwar, DSP (Headquarters) Abhey Rao and DSP (Kalka) Manvir Singh also reached the spot at 3 in the morning. A case has been registered with the police and investigations are on.
