MC clears projects worth Rs 50 lakh

Chandigarh, September 11: A meeting of the water supplies and sewerage disposal committee of the Chandigarh MC cleared projects to the tune of nearly Rs 50 lakh on Tuesday. The committee also approved the estimates of Rs 14.65 lakh required for the repair of boundary wall of the Water works in Sector 26.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Vijay Singh Rana and attended Anil Kumar Dubey, Sarita Devi, Brig Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri (retd), Gurnam Singh and other MC officials.

The committee also approved the laying of the PVC pipe line for the irrigation of green belt, community centre and other parks in Sector 40-D. The project is estimated to cost nearly Rs 5.81 lakh.

The project for removal of garbage waste and the desilting of a nullah passing through the ‘abadi’ area of Manimajra was also approved by the committee. Estimates of Rs 14.28 lakh for the purchase of two water tankers for enhancing water supply and estimates of Rs 1.93 lakh for the work of repair and modification of existing halls for installation of water meter testing bench of water works, sector 32 was also cleared by the committee.

A number of similar development projects have been cleared by the committee.
