NOIDA, September 11: THE niece of Joginder Singh, a security guard at a Noida factory who allegedly killed his wife and three children before committing suicide, today said the couple had a tiff before she left for school on Monday.
Annu, who had been staying with the family for quite sometime now, said, “I prepared food in the morning and was leaving for school when I saw uncle and aunt fighting and yelling at each other. Uncle would scold her and the children often.” The food, however, was found in tact, said police.
Initial investigations showed Joginder murdered his family before committing suicide, but police said they are probing all angles. “The bodies were found beside each other. They were strangled with a nylon rope,” SSP AS Ganesh said.
However, there were no signs of struggle by the family, and no suicide note was found, police said. The second guard at the factory and a guard at the neighbouring factory said they did not hear any noise from the room.
A bottle of Clavamox tablets—used to control loose motions and blood pressure—has been recovered, police said. “A person could lose consciousness by taking these in large numbers,” a senior officer said.
The police are awaiting the post-mortem, which should be out on Wednesday. |
