New Delhi, September 11: A unique format event will see India ‘s professional women golfers start off a brand new season. But even as the draws were being made for the first leg here, the big news doing the rounds was the pull-out of top-draw and tour defending champion Irina Brar. The Chandigarh girl has had to withdraw and rush back home Tuesday morning after her mother was taken ill.
All other players have confirmed their entries.
Eight amateurs will get the chance to play with the senior pros at the three-day event at the Delhi Golf Club. Each of the eight will team up with one Category A pro to make up eight teams.
The Rs 1.68 lakh-event is one of three new events on the calendar this season, with the Category A winner walking away with Rs 48,057 and the Category B players, the associate professionals, playing for Rs 8,230. |
