The complainant alleged that the couple, who got married three months ago in Jharkhand after eloping and had obtained a court certificate there, was abducted on Friday when they came home to meet him.

He added that the four accused, along with others identified as Jarnail Singh of Sero Bagha, Jailu of Butala village, Laddi, Deba, Chhabba Doctor of Sheron Langah village, Pargat Singh, and other armed persons came to his house and forcibly took the couple away in their Tata Sumo.

Batala SSP RN Dhoke said four persons have been arrested and attempts were being made to nab others too. He added that the couple was found a day later and presented before the Ilaqa Magistrate and later sent to their kin Wassan Singh and Jagjit Singh. Their security has been beefed up, he said.
