How does it feel to make a comeback?
It’s not a comeback in the first place. When did I leave the show? It was Ekta’s (Kapoor) decision not to have my character in show for the past one year. I rejoined when Ekta wanted me back. It feels great because I am associated with Balaji (Telefilms) for the last eight years.
Is it difficult to maintain a rapport with Ekta Kapoor?
She is a wonderful person. What I am today is because of her. Besides, Ekta never has any problems with me working with other production houses, while I am a part of her show. One has to give her the credit for making stars.
Was it your decision to change the look of your character?
I decided my look. I wanted a change from my earlier long hair appearance, and preferred a different hairstyle. My role is glamorous and it will continue to be so.
Tell us something about the twists and turn in your track…
I wish I had known myself.
You were criticised for not matching up to your partner Shakeel Ahmed Siddiqui in Comedy Circus…
It is something I never did before. Besides, he is so good that no one can match up to him. I took up the offer because reality shows are very big now. Ours is the pair that lasted 10 weeks, without landing up in the danger zone.
Has your image changed after Comedy Circus?
With Comedy, I have proved that I’m capable of handling versatile roles. I have grown beyond my negative image.
