The winning loser
All Biggest Loser Jeetega finalists have gained health, but one walks away with a lakh per kilo shed
Piyush Roy

Hiren Bhawsar, 31, DJ
Total weight lost so far 40 kilos (135.3 to 95.3 kilos)Codenamed ‘the manipulator’ by some fellow contestants, Mumbai’s Bhawsar says, “The show wasn’t only about losing weight. It was a game and one had to play his cards well to survive”. But he’s happy about his weight loss; especially the fact that his inspired wife at home has also lost 12 kilos. Back to deejaying from mid-September, he says, “My job involves looking good and being confident. While I was always confident, after the show I am looking good too. It’s a new life.”
Biggest injury A cartilage problem in leg after a fall during exercise.
Biggest temptation A 12-inch double cheese pizza, which I will now have only once a month.
Biggest learning I am actually thinking healthy.

Sandeep Sachdev, 25, banker
Total weight lost so far: 41.6 kilos (124.9-83.3 kilos)Brother of TV actor Sumeet Sachdev, Sandeep always wanted to be an actor. Codenamed ‘the strategist,’ he says, “I believe in planning for whatever I do in life. That’s why I’m in the finals in spite of the many threats of elimination”. The Standard Chartered employee is thankful to the bank “for the long leave,” but whether he returns to his job depends on what happens next. “I like to live life step by step, through well planned strategies, be it for myself, my team on the show or my career.”
Biggest injury A chest problem and high blood pressure in the initial days that has now been tackled.
Biggest temptation Butter chicken masala, which I will give in to but will run an extra mile to negate its effects.
Biggest learning Tips to a healthy lifestyle and faith in myself.

Natasha Grover, 27, BPO manager
Total weight lost so far: 38.5 kilos (100.8-62.3 kilos)The lone lady ‘survivor’ outlived some cunning strategies of her male counterparts keen on an all-male finale because “while other ladies took a backseat with strenuous exercises I matched the guys on their turf”. Lack of a boyfriend was her motivation to join the show; now Natasha’s got the looks to kill and hopes “my love life will take off after the show is over”. Thrice voted the biggest loser, she says her biggest achievement was the 10 kilometre walk she did at one stretch, when she would otherwise pant after every 10 minutes. The BPO manager with Sitel India is keen “to go back to my job, though many modelling offers are coming my way. You never know what’s next”.
Biggest injury I never had a training related physical injury though I badly bruised my skin during one of the challenges where I had to run carrying a sack of bricks.
Biggest temptation Burgers. But now when I have them, I am also ready to pay the price of exercise.
Biggest learning The realisation that I can be as fit and tough as the guys when it comes to keeping my body in shape.
