Window dressing FABINDIA is back with some more fabulous dressings - this time for the floor and windows. The store has unveiled a collection of fine handcrafted curtains and dhurries to dress windows and floors with this summer.
The designs and collection are of very finely woven cotton dhurries based on classic motifs and woven with the traditional “panja khaddi (loom)”.
For the floor, Fabindia showcases a collection of unique hand-woven pieces, where each dhurrie is a tribute to the master craftsmen who created these designs by interweaving a variety of colours, using skills that have been handed down generations.
The exhibition-cum-sale will be on till March 18 at the Fabindia outlet at SCO 127-128, Sector 9, Chandigarh.
Collective canvas FIVE women artists from Panchkula have teemed up to display their love for nature on canvas, at the Vanity Fair. While Poonam Arora has used thick impasto of vibrant colours to pay an ode to female figure, Sunita Minhas has dabbled in translucency of water colours and richness of oils to capture various moods of nature. Renu too celebrates the joyous atmosphere of nature through neatly flecked canvases. Meenu, an experienced artist and a teacher by profession exhibits a rather free brushwork to depict the turbulence in human life. Likewise Seema Chauhan, a fine arts student, shares her fancy for landscape and figurative art dealt with a calculated handling.
The show is on at the Whispering Willows, a resort on Zirakpur road, as part of the Vanity Fair-2007, held on March 17 and 18.
