Vadodara, September 21: THE SSG Hospital canteen was given a clean chit by the public analyst of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) laboratory in connection with a reported incident of contamination of food earlier this week. Samples of food from the canteen had been sent to the laboratory as some patients had fallen ill reportedly after consuming the canteen food a few days ago.
In a report submitted to SSG Hospital, public analyst G R Gohil found an absence of fungus, mould growth and synthetic colour. Samples of puri-shak prepared by the canteen were sent for testing when relatives of the patients who took ill alleged the presence of adulterated edibles. ‘‘The sample was was good enough for consumption,’’ claimed Dr M H Gadhvi. |
