Chandigarh, April 27: THE Chandigarh Sub-Junior and Challenger Rowing Championship will be held at the Lake Club on May 20. The events include Single Scull (1 x) for Sub-junior and Challenger, Double Sculls (2x) for Sub-junior, Double Scull (2 x) light weight for Challenger, Coxless Pairs (2-) for Sub-junior and Challenger, Coxless Fours (4 -) for Challenger and Coxless Fours (4+) for Sub-junior category.
The entries close with Chandigarh Rowing Association (CRA) secretary Parmod Kumar, Lake Club on May 19 at 6 p.m.
According to the organisers only the rowers born on or after January 1, 1991 are eligible to participate in the the sub-junior category.
Meanwhile, the CRA authorities have informed that they will send the Chandigarh team for the forthcoming 9th Sub-junior and 11th Challenger National Rowing Championship to be held at Rabindra Sarobar Lake, Calcutta Rowing Club Course, Kolkata, from May 30 to June 4. The event will be hosted by West Bengal Rowing Association (WBRA).

Certificate course in Rowing On the request of the Rowing Federation of India (RFI), the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Patiala, will conduct a 6-week certificate course in rowing at Sports Authority of India's Water Sports Centre, Alleppey, Kerala, from May 17 to June 25. The course fee is Rs. 5000 payable to SAI to cover boarding and lodging expenses of the candidates.
