Pune, February 20: Studying at the reputed Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) of the United States will now be easier for engineering aspirants, that too with up to 100 per cent scholarships. Making this possible is Chennai-based SSN School of Advanced Software Engineering (SSNSASE). The institute is offering Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) in Software Engineering and Robotics Technology, where the curriculum is same as that of CMU.
The icing on the cake is the fact that SSNSASE is offering scholarships to all students who enroll in the course. These scholarships will enable students to tuition fee waivers of 100 per cent, 75 per cent and 50 per cent. ‘‘The course fees at Carnegie Mellon University is nearly $45,000. But the SSN charitable trust, set up by Shiv Nadar, chairman of HCL Technologies, subsidises fees for all students,’’ said Dr Shashikant Albal, director of SSNSASE.
The course is open to graduate and post graduate students with a minimum of 70 per cent marks in any discipline of engineering, mathematics, physics, business management and computer applications. Both the courses can take a total of 30 students. The first year of the one-and-a-half year course will be conducted at SSNSASE, which is located 30 km from Chennai. For the last six months of the course, students join their American counterparts on the CMU campus.
SSNSASE will introduce two courses on embedded systems and software engineering management, with 30 seats. The admission process comprises a written test and two interviews. In the final interview, faculty from CMU join the local selection committee. The admission details be at www.ssnsase.ac.in within a week. One can also contact Albal at 044 27475063/64 for details.
