Cops hunting for accused in IOC sales manager’s murder
Express News Service

Lucknow, November 21: RAIDS are on to arrest the five persons- including Monu Mittal, son of the owner of the Mittal Patrol Service Station- accused in the sensational murder of Manju Nathan, sales manager of the Indian Oil Corporation.

Nathan’s body was recovered from the possession of two persons- Rakesh Kumar and Vivek Sharma- in an area under the Sitrapur police station on Sunday morning, by the police. The body was being taken (for disposal) by both the arrested persons in a car. ‘‘In fact, the car belonged to Nathan and not the owner of the patrol service station,” SP (Lakhimpur) Zaki Ahmad told this reporter over phone.

According to the SP, the names of seven persons- Monu Mittal, Sanjay Awasthi, Devesh Agnihotri, Lalla, Harish, Rakesh Kumar and Vivek Sharma, have figured in this case.

He maintained preliminary investigation found that the slain officer had spent his whole day near the Mittal patrol service station on Saturday. ‘‘He had reached the patrol service station around 10.30 am. He collected information about the patrol supplied to the customers by the agency. He also talked to a few customers near the patrol service station, to verify the report about the supply of adulterated fuel,” the Lakhimpur SP disclosed. He also added that the patrol service station was sealed on September 13 by the authorities concerned of the IOC. ‘‘Later, the owner was allowed to open his patrol service station on October 16, but not without a warning,” he added.
