Pune, September 2: NESS Wadia College of Commerce scored an easy 3-0 win against Alegaonkar School, Khadki to clinch the under-19 title of the District Sports Council’s inter-school (Pune City) hockey tournament.
In the final played at Loyola High School ground, Vikram Yadav, Aniket Jadhav and Makarand Gandhali contributed a goal each to clinch the win.
In the Under-17 section, Bishop’s School (Camp) continued their dream debut with a 3-0 win over St Patrick’s High School, to reach the final. yash Jaiswal, Aditya Khurana and Nirmit Badani scored a goal each. It is for the first time in many years that a St Patrick’s side has not reached a single final at the tournament.
In the Under-14 semifinal, a hat-trick by Sandeep Bhatti helped St Joseph’s Khadki score a mammoth 8-0 win over All Saints School, Khadki. Akshay Kotharkar, Shadab Sayyed, Anurag Kenchinwar, Aditya Ambekar and Bhima Tambe completed the rout.
