The Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO) is planning to launch e-booking facilities for its hotels. As per the proposal, guests would be able to book hotels online either on CITCO website or the UT Administration website. CITCO has submitted its plan to the UT Administration.
CITCO has chalked out a special plan for the growth of its hotels and to lure more tourists, both national and international. As per the plan, all CITCO hotels would have hi-tech rooms with special interactive television sets and energy sensors. There would also be art galleries at all CITCO hotels.
A special cell to register complaints of the guests, if any, would also be set up at all CITCO hotels. CITCO is also planning to acquire the ISO 14001 certification — related to effluent and solid waste management — for its hotels.
All CITCO hotels would have their own treatment plant set up by professional agencies. The hotels would also be environment-friendly and encourage use of solar energy and rain water harvesting, as per the plan.
To lure more guests and provide them with more facilities, CITCO is also planning to tie up with various clubs including Golf Club, Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association and Chandigarh Golf Association. CITCO guests would be able to enjoy a game of golf or try their hand at tennis once the tie ups are through.
With focus on publicity, CITCO is also planning to organise cultural events at its hotels. CITCO is also planning to come out with publicity material like brochures and CDs projecting facilities offered at CITCO hotels.
As per the plan, CITCO would also concentrate on effective techniques of sales and marketing and would form tie-ups with national hotel chains like ITC and Raddison to promote its hotels outside Chandigarh.
CITCO is also planning to organise national and international trade festivals in the city to attract local guests from other parts of the country and from abroad.
As a part of the promotion campaigns, CITCO would get in touch with travel agents all over the country so that local tourists are diverted to the city and to CITCO hotels.
